Predators and parasitoids to control aphids in protected strawberry cultivation

Summary

The strawberry aphid, Chaetosiphon fragaefolii, can be a serious pest on strawberries, especially those grown in the elevated temperatures under polytunnels. The aphid is a virus-vector, and honeydew produced by the aphids causes the fruits to become sticky and unmarketable. Other species of aphids, including Macrosiphum euphorbiae, Myzus ascalonicus and Myzus ornatus, are also often found on strawberry.
