A review of fruiting plant species as potential dead-end hosts of Drosophila suzukii

Spotted wing drosophila or SWD (Drosophila suzukii) can be attracted to dead end hosts, which are plants that produce soft skinned berries that are attractive to adult SWD, but which prevent the development of SWD eggs into larave. This AHDB review reports on a study undertaken to identify a list of potential dead-end hosts which could be grown in the UK and ranks the potential efficacy of each.

Read the review to:

  • Identify potential UK hosts
  • Find out how effective they are
  • Learn more about how the hosts slow or suppress the development of SWD
